Your Guide to Murals in Powhatan

World Photography Day is celebrated each year on August 19th to recognize the importance of photography, its history, and the creativity that accompanies it. While photographs can obviously be taken anywhere the operator draws inspiration, murals have become increasingly popular photo backdrops for professional photographers and social media influencers alike. Powhatan County, Virginia happens to be home to a number of vibrant wall murals and outdoor wall art that we think could make the perfect subject or background for your next local photoshoot! While you’re visiting our county, make sure to pay a visit to the following locations:

Powhatan’s newest mural, located on the side of the newly renovated Jinks Towing building, showcases a map of our county as well as our perfectly detailed county seal. This mural was created by Powhatan native, Tre Taliaferro, and makes the perfect photo op for those visiting the county, as well as those who are looking to show off their hometown pride.

Feeling angelic? Gain your own pair of wings by visiting local business, Vintage Antique Shack, and snap a photo in front of their building’s mural. Recently redone by Tre Taliaferro, this mural is on trend with others like it around the country.

A mural at a carwash? Trust us, this one’s cool! Another local business, The WashBox, is also home to a Tre Taliaferro mural, full of fun and vibrant colors and a neat design. While you’re there, you can always go through the car wash to get your vehicle nice and sparkly clean.

Before you cross the county line into Cumberland, Virginia, you’ll be greeted with our fourth and final mural in Powhatan, located on the side of the Fast Lane Auto building. This spot is another perfect place to show all your followers that you recently visited our beautiful county and is yet another Tre Taliaferro masterpiece!
